Buying shutters and don't know which louvre size to go with?

I am buying shutters and have mostly medium sized windows in my house. I originally planned on getting the 4 1/2 in until I saw them up close. I then realized the scale might be way off and was going more towards the 3 1/2 in. I have to let the company know by today, so any suggestions/experiences will be appreciated!

    Nicole,
    Larger louvers do provide more light and visibility with fewer louvers used and more space between the open louvers. However, as you noticed, 4.5" louvers really can overwhelm medium to small windows. I generally only recommend them for very large window openings. The most common sizes sold are 3" or 3.5" louvers. If you have enough depth within the window opening for the louvers to rotate properly, I suggest the 3.5" plantation louver.
