Can i work in France as the spouse of an austrian?
I am a Canadian, living with my austrian boyfriend in Montreal since 3 years. We are planning to move to France, and i try to figure the best way for me to be able to work freely in France.
My question is:
if we marry in Quebec before leaving, does this gives me the right to work freely in France as the spouse of an austrian?
Any info will be much appreciated!
We are not married but plan to do so before leaving for france, to make it possible for me to move and then search for work there.
NO
How can you say spouse? Are you married with your Australian boyfriend?
Your Austrian husband, as a citizen of the European union, is totally free to work and live in France. As far as you’re concerned, if you’re married with him, you are regarded in France as an Austrian too (even if you choose to have double nationality Canadian and Austrian). So, you will be a citizen of the UE too, and free to live and work in France.
