do I need to know French to get admitted to McGill Medical School?

I am planning to apply for the program of medicine at McGill University. I know McGill is an English-speaking school but I was thinking the program of medicine might be a little bit different. For example, medical students need to work in hospitals and communicate with the patients, right? What if a patient only speaks French and not English?
I was wondering if McGill medical school requires applicants for a proof of French proficiency?
Do I have to take a French test?
I couldn’t find anything on McGill’s website.

May I suggest that you telephone them.

I would be very uncomfortable studying medicine, or any other subject, in Montreal if I did not know French. You will be living in a French-speaking city.
