I have louvre windows, and I cannot get them to open or close. How do I fix the mechanisms to work so they will open and close?

Hi,
The mechanism may possibly have worn gears or simply need a cleaning & new grease. You have to remove the handle then the cover should have 2 screws to expose the gears. Use kerosene & a small brush to clean the gears of grease & dirt and check if they’re are showing signs of wear. If it looks good after cleaning apply a generous amount of grease to any gear, before putting the cover back on test the operating of the mechanism. Make sure it’s a heavy grease & not a spray lubricant.
