How much money should I bring to Paris?

Do you think €250 is enough to bring to Paris for 5 days? Its with my school so most of my meals are paid for and all the activities are paid for too. It’s just really for snacks and buying clothes and presents. Do you think that’s enough? Is there any cheap stores you know of in paris?

I just returned from Paris and found things expensive. If you are from the EU then it is a lot more affordable than those travelling from overseas.

Since most of your meals and activities are covered, then it depends on what you plan on buying. Keep in mind that this is the fashion capital of the world and things such as fashion are very pricey! LaFayette is a huge shopping mall that you must at least walk through for the mere experience to see all of the big brand name stores (prices are most extreme though!). You can easily spend all of your spending money on a pair of boots or shoes, or a dress. I was told not to go for cheap, such as the store Tati, as the clothes are not the greatest quality and fall apart after a wash or two. So I did not bother to shop there. Trinkets can be expensive, but if you wish to buy small Eiffel Towers, there are various sizes to buy from local street merchants around the sites (ie. Sacre-Coeur, Eiffel Tour) which cost from 2 euros and up.

All in all, that amount of money will be more than enough I think for small trinkets. Fashion, on the otherhand, no amount is enough. Postcards are inexpensive souvenirs which cost a mere 20 or so euro cents. Definitely, try a sit down dinner at a nice restaurant as all of the Paris’ food is fantastic! The sites and architecture is absolutely amazing!! Worse case scenario, you return with money…which you can keep for your return trip…(trust me)…Bon voyage!!

the best thing to do is to have a debit card. get x amount of cash out every day so you’re not carrying all the cash, and you wont have to worry about having enough. you dont want to go over seas and be like "mann, I wish i could’ve bought that."

if you, or your parents have a debit card, call that bank and tell them where you’re going to be and for how long, so they dont freak out and freeze the account.

    have fun!
