How strict are the French requirements for graduate programs at University of Montreal and UQAM?
The UdeM webpage states that a french test is required of students from non-native french speakers. How important is this test. Would it be a deal-breaker for getting admittance if the applicant did not know french?
Get in touch with the international officer of that university. The French test might be the TEF or TFI or TCF or DELF/DALF. Make life easier for your self and ask your university if they accept Delf.
Contact your closest Alliance Francaise office for further details as they are the ones who conduct these exams. http://www.alliancefr.org/
