If you want to do it by Metro, sadly it is not the most direct as it will require two lines and a walk. A bus is easier as there are different routes that can take you more directly (lines 69 or 72 for example).
If you want it to be by metro, take line 1 (direction "La Defense") and get off at Charles-de-Gaulle/Etoille station. Switch to line 6 (it only goes one way from here) and get off at Bir-Hakeim station. It is a short walk to the tower (just look in the air to see which way to go).
