How would a person have most likely traveled from San Francisco to Paris in 1954?
I’ve been researching to find out how difficult it would have been to fly. For example, would one have had to first fly to NYC, then to London, then to Paris? Or, would it be more likely that one would have taken a steamship from NYC to Liverpool? The traveler is going on an extended vacation.
Flying would have been quickest, by Super Constellation or DC-7, but the majority of people would have travelled by ship; either through the Panama Canal or from NYC after travelling cross-country by rail.
Yeah, train to New York and then steamer.
