Do you know what the second most played and learned instrument is behind the guitar? It’s the piano and the way we learn it is drastically changing these days.

Just as how we converse and interact with others and do our banking is changing thanks to the Internet and other communication advancements these same technologies are changing how we learn as well.

Whether it’s improving our golf swing and trying to break 90 or learning to play the piano with a piano course there’s more knowledge and skills at our finger tips then ever before, but with this also comes a down side.

Now that it is so easy to gain access to a great instructor, professional lessons and videos for virtually any topic you can think of we’re faced with more choice.

Here’s how it used to work, let’s say you wanted to shoot a lower golf score. To do this you’d find a teacher, take lessons and practice a lot. Today you can hop on YouTube, watch a few videos and at the same time find a beginner piano lesson video as well.

Our span of attention to things is shrinking and it takes a special type of person who can focus in on a task as hand to get it done. Most of us who want to learn something new fall in love with the idea of it but can rarely, if ever get past that stage because something else catches our attention before we ever get the chance to learn the first thing we were interested in.

I don’t think anyone will argue that we have made some great advancements such as shopping online, world wide communication and some productivity growth, how ever what are the side effects of all this speed and knowledge at our finger tips?.

ADD may be the social disease of the future as we walk around with our faces in our smart phones checking emails that just aren’t all that important.

We’re Making Ann Arbor Our Home

My husband and I have just moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan from Chicago. We really love the area. A nice-sized town with so much diversity and culture. My friends in Chicago tease me about moving to the hicks but they'll be surprised when they come visit. Ann Arbor is definitely not the hicks. It's a lovely place to live. My husband has opened his own dentist office and is now one of many dentists in Ann Arbor. His business is growing and we think it will be very successful. We now have really settled in and are looking forward to starting a family and making Ann Arbor our home for a long long time. It feels so good to put down roots and develop relationship and to have a "home town." When our family and friends from Chicago visit they will see what a wonderful life we've created and we're not living in the hicks.

How can an English-speaking girl study and get a decent job in France?

I have an Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management and have several years experience working for a 6-star ultra luxury cruise line. I would love to study further in France so I can complete my degree and learn to speak French. Yet, I can only speak English and Afrikaans. How can I achieve all this when it seems the main prerequiste for a Hospitality job in France is to be bi-lingual?

I need a good recipe for french bread and Cinnamon raisin for a bread maker. Any suggestions?

I am originally from New York city. I went to France on vacation and fell in love with it. I would like to know how to become an English teacher in France? I searched the internet, but I am hesitant on picking a program that says it will help me out of fear it is not a legit service. Does anyone have a legit service that would help me get certified so I can begin looking for a teaching job in France. I already have some where to live I just need a job. I do not want to be there illegally.

I like old fashion french suff. What colours should i use for my room. I love purple and maroon but im thinking more flushed pink and light green but i think it might be too girly. I like green but it doesn’t seem very french. So far i am going to have black, white and another colour which i need your help on picking. Help??
