It appears that Russia needs to update its weapons because it "feels like it is being surrounded by American Missiles". Has the sale of warships by france to Russia meant that Europe will start upgrading Russia’s outdated equipment? Does this show a new partnership forming, as Europe, mainly Germany relies on Russia for energy supplies?

Why did the French surrender to the Germans without a fight during WWII?

Was there a strategy behind such move? The French must have known they would not be alone, and that the combined forces of the allies (The USA, Britain, and Russia) would crush the Germans. I just can’t understand why they gave up without a fight. Your thoughts?
