Visiting France on the way to my home country from the USA. How to apply for visa?

Hi,
I was in the United States for 6 months as a student (F-1 visa status), and I’m going to my home country soon. I’d like to visit Paris on the way, as a tourist. How do I apply for a visa? Should I apply for one by myself, or are there people who organize tours in France for tourists, through whom I can apply?
My home country is Sri Lanka. I definitely need a visa.
Wtf, doesn’t anyone know?

    It would help if you said what is your home country. Maybe you don’t even need a visa to visit France.
