What is the best (and affordable) hotel in Paris, France?

I am planning to go to Paris next year in July with a friend. We’re planning on staying there for a week. Does someone have any recommendations of decent affordable accomodations?

Check TripAdvisor.com it’s pretty reliable as it will list the hotels by customer rating.

Best and affordable are mutually exclusive when we are talking about Paris.

There are thousands of hotels in Paris and the surrounding area. It really depends on where you want to stay and what amenities you are looking for.

It was one of the first "Boutique Hotel" of Paris. Built in 1926, the Hotel Montalembert is located in the center of Paris, in the heart of Saint Germain des Pres, home of the art galleries, antiques, fine shopping and few steps away from the Musee d’Orsay and the Louvre. The name Montalembert comes from Charles Forbes Montalembert, a famous politician, writer and member of the prestigious Academie Francaise.

If you’re looking for a good hotel in Paris you can go to Scoobit.com, the hotel search engine at http://www.scoobit.com and to this page dedicated to Paris hotels in particular http://www.scoobit.com/hotel-paris.php I stayed at the first hotel on the right. It was a clean, well located and nicely staffed hotel. Ideally located near Notre-Dame, the forum and the Pompidou center. Very good tube connections. This is a safe site. You can book on line and there are no booking fees. Have a great time in Paris.

have you considered renting a vacation apartment instead? I prefer them to hotels because you can find really nice places in good locations for a lot cheaper than hotels because you don’t pay for extra services (maid, breakfast, etc) plus you get the benefit of being closer to locals and having more privacy.

I use Lodgis but there are other apartment agencies such as paristay or parisattitude I know of online.

if you are interested in this, just search for "paris vacation apartment"
    you’ll get plenty of results.
