What is the best area to stay in Paris for the main sights but also for scenic walking?

We are going to Paris for only two days and would like to stay in an area that is charming, quaint and romantic (good for walking around), cafes, art etc. but it also has to be close to the main sights (Eiffel Tower, Louvre etc.) since we are short on time. Any suggestions of the area of the city to stay in or even specific hotels?

For closer proximity to Eiffel Tower, Louvre and the Louvre Museums, I would advise you to pick a hotel within 75001 Paris and 75008 Paris. Now there are a number of hotels within these streets:
Hotel De Vendome, 75001 Paris **
Le Pavillon De La Reine, 75003 Paris
    Relais Christine, 75006 Paris
    L’Hotel, 75006 Paris **
    Hotel Vernet, 75008 Paris
Hotel San Regis, 75008 Paris **

The Hotels marked with ** are picks I’d suggest for you as they closest fit your description for strolls (), Louvre, Eiffel, art (museums and galleries e.g. Musee d’Orsay), restaurants and cafes.

You did not mention your estimated budget, but you can compare the prices, amenities, and facilities at:
