You have 2 solutions: the car and the train. the car is the cheapest but if you don’t have any car…i think the train is the best, easy, fast and not too expensive.

I am wondering if you are actually travelling from the UK by ferry, if that is the case Brittany Ferries will provide you with an inclusive ticket (rail fare) to Paris. As to the cost I am unsure as I have no idea when you are travelling.

Trains in France are very reasonably priced – unlike in England.
The standard fare is about € 31. But you can also get reduced fares for about € 24 on certain trains.

The cheapest way is hitch-hiking. But you don’t see many of them these days and I suspect you might have a long wait. So, the train is fine.
