Do a combination of things. Take a class at school if you can; classes are a good way to get the basics. CDs are another way to begin learning. Podcasts are great; Coffee Break French is a good one, Katia and Kylie Mac Learn French is another. There are a lot of websites that will be good as well: http://www.livemocha.com is good. Books, movies, and listening to music are good to learn the language. Finding someone who speaks French with is a great way to improve speaking.

You have time since your cousin is so young.

podcasts are an excellent way to learn many languages. They are also genrally free which is an added bonus. Download itunes and search for it. Good luck

Having a French boyfriend and going to French lessons everyday… after picking it up a little, you might want to try reading baby books in French and so on… until you read normal books too…

    Good luck

the fastest way is to focus on day to day vocabulary, as you can use it in French every day. Also to focus on sentences and not only words and of course to catch the correct accent, so visit http://www.frenchspanishonline.com it is free
