What was the most fancy place in France in the late 19th century?

Where did rich families of France usually live in that period of time, rather than Paris? It can be around Paris, though. Thanks in advance.

    Douville, Trouville Granville, Lyon sur Mer, any of the resort towns around Normandy, although Trouville was predominantly visited by the very rich British. The south coast was not visited as it was seen as very avant guarde.
