What's the relationship between France & England during the French Revolution?

During class we had to watch A Tale Of 2 Cities and we have to answer a worksheet afterwards. One of the question is The relationship between France and England. Any ideas?

well remember that france and england have been fighting for many many years. when the revolution happen england feared that france might become a democracy like america and the monarchs in england were afraid they might lose their power.

England and France were not friends at this time , and many French nobles escaped to England to avoid the Guillotine

I think you will find it was dependant on where you were at the time , in France dodgy, in England, we really did not want to know, =except of course the Scarlett pimpernel= lol

Even more hostile than it was normally.
All of the monarchs Europe were afraid that the revolutionary ideas in France would spread to the rest of Europe, therefore putting them out of power.
